San Pellegrino Limonata Review

San Pellegrino Limonata is one of the flavors of San Pellegrino’s Italian Sparkling Drinks traditional line. San Pellegrino is not an independent company, but a subsidy of the Swiss company Nestlé. Nestlé also owns the sparkling water brand Perrier.

San Pellegrino Limonata Review

San Pellegrino Limonata is a lightly carbonated sparkling beverage. It is sweetened like all of the beverages in San Pellegrino’s Traditional line.

San Pellegrino Limonata Appearance

Appearance

San Pellegrino Limonata pours with a nice white foamy head. It is a cloudy lemonade color and after several minutes there is a little bit of sediment that settles on the bottom. The aroma of the freshly poured sparkling drink is of acidic lemons.

Taste

Let’s be honest, this is why you are reading this review. San Pellegrino Limonata is a sour beverage and I love it. It has a surprising 16% lemon juice and the taste shows it. The first flavor on the tongue is an acidic sweetness. Then you get a wallop of sour lemon. The sweetness is not very noticeable, but it does balance the lemon. The flavor at the end of the palate is a nice balance between lemon and sweetness. San Pellegrino Limonata punches a lemon punch, but the sweetness compliments it well and there isn’t a bitter flavor at the end.

I really like this flavor and it goes really well with on a hot day. I don’t think that I could drink San Pellegrino Limonata warm and prefer it with ice. I do not think that I could drink more than one of these at a time.

There is a good amount of sugar in San Pellegrino Limonata, 24 grams. A can of Coca Cola has 39 grams of sugar, over 50% more than a can of San Pellegrino Limonata. Even though there is a good amount of sugar in San Pellegrino Limonata, it is not overly sweet.

San Pellegrino Limonata

Sparkling

San Pellegrino Limonata has the standard small, light, and delicate bubbles you find in San Pellegrino water. The bubbles are added by carbon dioxide, but they are smaller and more delicate than those in many sparkling waters.

Nutrition

San Pellegrino Limonata comes in a 11.15 ounce, 330ml, can. There are 120 calories in a can. The 24 grams of sugar contribute to the 31 grams of carbohydrates. San Pellegrino Limonata is certified OU Kosher.

San Pellegrino Limonata Conclusion

8/10

San Pellegrino Limonata is not for everyone, but I really like it. The 16% lemon juice coupled with the sugar, creates a mouth-puckering sparkling lemonade. I think that it goes great on a hot day after exercise. It is a little too sour for me to have more than one at a time. This is the sourest of San Pellegrino’s traditional line of beverages.
