San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa Review

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa, otherwise known as blood orange, is one of the flavors in San Pellegrino’s Traditional line of sparkling drinks. San Pellegrino was purchased by Nestlé in 1997 and is no longer an independent company. Nestlé’s line of sparkling beverages includes San Pellegrino and Perrier.

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa Review

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa is a sweet lightly sparkling beverage. Real oranges are used to provide the flavor instead of artificial flavoring agents like many sparkling beverages.

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa appearance

Appearance

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa probably has my favorite appearance of any sparkling beverage that I have had. It has a nice white head with tiny bubbles when poured. The color is an orangish pink hue with some suspended sediment. It looks like a thick beverage, but the mouthfeel is a lot thinner than it looks.

Taste

The flavor of San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa is rather muted even though it is 16% orange juice and 3% blood orange juice. The first hint of flavor is a slight sweetness followed by a mellow citrus flavor that turns into a slight orange flavor. The flavor ends with a nice mix of sweetness and tartness. Aranciata Rossa is not a bold flavor like Limonata, but it is a lot more balanced flavor.

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa has 29 grams of sugar compared to the 39 grams of sugar in a can of Coca Cola. It does not taste as overtly sweet as San Pellegrino Ficodindia e Aranci, but you can still tell that there is sweetness.

I like the flavor and could drink several of them. It is not a bold taste, but the taste is not subtle either. The mouthfeel of San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa is thicker than standard sparkling water or soda, but thinner than orange juice. It is a good balance and makes for a perfect summer beverage.

Sparkling

San Pellegrino uses carbon dioxide to add carbonation to San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa. The bubbles are small and delicate and float around the mouth.

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa nutrition

Nutrition

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa has 130 calories in each 11.15-ounce can. There are 33 grams of carbohydrates and 29 grams of sugar packed into each can. This is less than many sodas, but on the high side for sparkling beverages. San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa is certified OU Kosher.

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa Conclusion

7/10

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa is a great post-hike or bike ride beverage. It has the perfect small bubbles that dance around your mouth. The flavor is mellow but substantial. This is a flavor that I will buy again. Check out our master San Pellegrino flavor review or detailed reviews for specific flavors.
