Amazon Subscribe and Save Filler Items
Amazon offers Subscribe and Save on some items, where a discount is given if you schedule delivery on a specific day for the items. The discounts range from 0% to 20% and your discount is marked by being highlighted in orange.
You need to have five items on Subscribe and Save to get the larger discount. Sometimes you save more money by adding cheaper Subscribe and Save “filler” items to get to the five-item discount. The greater discount is retroactive to all items on the current Subscribe and Save order.

Environmental Impact
I have tried to exclude filler items that contained excessive amounts of plastic, like disposable floss picks. I think that it can be worth it to spend a few more cents to get a product that you will actually use instead of a “throw-away” item. I think that using Subscribe and Save is one of the most environmentally friendly ways to use Amazon.
